Lines worth keeping

A small, rotating collection of quotes that shape how I think about work, systems, and craft.

Q0001
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.”
— Leonardo da Vinci (attributed)

A reminder that good systems often feel boring from the outside.

simplicity design systems-thinking

I like this quote because it captures something about mature systems: when the hard thinking is done well, the user experience feels almost obvious.

Q0002
“LLMs cannot reason about novel situations in the way that even a very young child can.”
— Yann LeCun (Paraphrased)

While LLM are good at symbolic reasoning particularly in text where patterns itself lead to reason (say mathematics or coding) such reasoning is not feasible in real world.

LLM GenerativeAI critical

I resonate with this quote because just like Yann, I believe LLMs are not the path towards AGI. However, I do view LLMs as tools that ease our path to knowledge and ability to build breaking the barrier of math, language, and coding.
