What You’d Do?

One thought that feeds my curiosity is the desire to understand religion, belief systems, Gods, and Humans. Our capability to acquire knowledge, write it down and pass it on to generations have helped our entire race reach heights that have never been achieved. The journey never stops. In this poem, I share an incident, explore the interpretations, and leave with more questions than answers.

Have you ever thought,
How you would live,
If you were left,
Alone on the streets,
No parents to care,
No siblings to share,
And all you had was,
A platform as house,

Here’s a story,
I need to tell you,
Let me know,
what you’d do

There was this boy,
Who would just stare,
Of food people eat,
On the same street,
So dirty he was,
No one would care,
For in their vision,
He was nowhere,

There came this girl,
Some heavenly world,
Love filled in her eyes,
She wanted to help,

Few pennies she made,
Didn’t look any rich,
She probably knew,
She can’t do much too,

But that wouldn’t stop,
What she wanted to do,
Her life took a pause,
For this boy who was lost,
Some snack and a drink,
For him and her too,
She stood next to him,
Offered him to join,

What happened next,
I need to tell you,
Let me know,
what you’d do

This moment was big,
For he let out a smile,
It wasn’t the food,
His smile ran much deep,
her face wasn’t filled,
pride of being kind,
She came like a friend,
love she did not pretend.

How to define,
What I just saw,
‘twas time to leave,
And she had to go,
There was a smile,
That stayed for a while,
was so magical,
Mutual was the joy,

That’s my story,
I just told you,
Let me share,
Some thoughts too,

For some of us,
God actioned her,
For some others,
Her actions were God,

I’d like to think,
If however,
Her actions were human,
That’s what humans are.

So, is there no God?
am not saying that,
But now that I think,
Who created whom,
Did God create us,
Or we created him,
If there was no human,
Would there be God?

Why would I not,
Believe in God,
Who is in me,
And you; but
Why’d I believe,
Stories and books,
And argue on,
What really is true,

Having said this all,
Would it be ok,
If I say He is,
Supernatural,
Would you then like,
An outlander,
to tell us all,
To be human,

Let me remind,
The story to you,
Let me know,
what you’d do

Have you ever thought,
How you would live,
If you were left,
Alone on the streets,
No parents to care,
No siblings to share,
And all you had was,
A platform as house,

If you already know,
answers for these,
If your heart,
more than just beats,
Why do we even,
Have to discuss God,
We know to be right,
That’s what its for.

That’s my story,
I just told you,
If that made you think,
What you’d do…
